I’m leaving in 2 days to Taiwan for 3 weeks and I cannot be more excited. This also means I won’t have much time to read but that hasn’t stopped me from uploading a shit tonne of eBooks onto my Kobo. I have a thing for variety.

Before I break out into heat rashes and get really tanned in the 38°C (about 100°F for you Americans) with 75% humidity weather, which makes it feel like it’s 45°C (113°F), I decided to compile a TBR list for my trip.

I have a total of 17 ebooks on my Kobo but there are a few that take precedent over others. These are the 5 books that I’m hoping I’ll read (all summaries are taken directly from Goodreads):

Currently Reading/Best Books I’ve Read So Far of 2015

I thought I’d take a little breather from being so ranty after that last review (I get really riled up and do some angry heavy breathing and sighing) by posting what I’m currently reading and some of the best books I’ve read so far this year!

My Current Read: Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

seraphinaI’m only a few pages into this but this seems promising so far and I’m very very very excited about that. With a 4.01/5 review on GR too, I’m very relieved to finally be reading something that I might finish all the way through and not hate.

The way I chose Seraphina was my current read was to write down a bunch of books I’m interested in reading next and randomly select one. It was supposed to be this cute post where I fold a bunch of origami stars with book titles written on them and have those put in a mason jar that I’d decorate too, but laziness overtook me and I decided to just cut out hearts and have the bf randomly select one.

LOOK at this cover though! It is absolutely gorgeous the way the colours change in the light. This might be my favourite book cover of 2015 too now that I think about it.

As some of you may know if you had read the “About Me” section, I hate summarizing plotlines since I think they’re so accessible with Goodreads around, but I’ll try my best to describe what this beautiful book is about.

Seraphina introduces a medieval world where humans and dragons in human forms co-exist, although not as peacefully as some may hope. Tensions are high between the two species and our musically gifted protagonist is thrust into the court life after a member of the royal family is murdered. Seraphina gets involved with the investigation of the murder, and of course there has to be a cutie pie Prince that joins her in solving this mystery.

This is the first time I’m dabbling into a realm where dragons/humans coexist, and I know there are quite a lot of good YA books with this theme so I’m hoping this is a good one to start with.

Chapters/Book Outlet Haul

It’s become a daily routine of mine to check Book Outlet as soon as I turn on the computer for any good deals, and there has been SO many great ones lately. I receive those pesky emails every day telling me my shopping cart of purchases are waiting for me, and if it weren’t for the fact that I’m only working on-call at the moment, I wouldn’t have to hesitate on clicking ‘Checkout.’

Who needs to pay bills or buy groceries and other necessities when there’s a book sale screaming at you to check it out? That’s pretty much what happened at Chapters today. It doesn’t help that they were having a Back to School promo where you get a $10 gift card if you spend $40 or more.
